Songs We Sing, 08/02 - 08/03/14 - Fellowship Bible Church

This weekend, we began a new series about relationships and what the Bible says about how we love one another: "Choose Love." Joe shared this weekend about seeking to be God-sourced in our love rather than self-centered. It was a powerful challenge to look to the needs of those we love rather than our own needs.

Here are our songs from this weekend:

Pre-Service - "The Weight" (Bb) [Dustin Kensrue, Teppei Teranishi, Riley Breckenridge, Ed Breckenridge - of the band Thrice]
"Made Alive" (C) [Zach Bolen, Brian Eichelberger]
Communion - "Wonderful Maker" (G) [Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman]
"Because of Your Love" (G) [Phil Wickham]
"Son of God" (G) [Tim Neufeld, Jon Neufeld, Ed Cash, Gordon Cochran]

It was a great weekend. "The Weight" is a powerful, pull-no-punches kind of song about what it means to love someone and to remain committed to them in marriage. "Made Alive" is one of our church's favorites. "Wonderful Maker" holds a special place for me, as it was a turning point in my worship of God, and in my worship leadership, helping me to take my eyes of of me and look more to honoring and exalting Jesus with my words and actions. "Because of Your Love" was a great connection to Joe's message, declaring that it is because of how Jesus has loved us that we can and will love others. "Son of God" is another of our church's favorites, and it is a simple and strong declaration of praise to Jesus Christ for who He is, what He has accomplished for us, and what He will accomplish soon in His glorious return.

The team did a great job, and it was a joy to worship together!
