This week, we looked at 1 Corinthians 10:23-33 as we continued in our message series through 1 Corinthians, Grounded. Pastor David Hinkle preached about doing all to the glory of God.
Here are our songs from this weekend:
Pre-Service - "In Exile" [Dustin Kensrue, Thrice]
"There is a Fountain" [William Cowper, William Gardiner]
"Lead Me to the Cross" [Brooke Ligertwood]
"Revelation Song" [Jennie Lee Riddle]
"Lord of All" [Kristian Stanfill]
For our singing, we focused on laying down our own rights and our own lives for the sake of the glory of God and the advancement of His kingdom. We do this because He gave Himself up for our redemption. He is our example in sacrificially giving up His rights and laying down His life for us. Because of this, our lives ought to reflect that same kind of sacrificial love for others, giving up our own rights and priveleges for the sake of those around us.
It was a great weekend of worship together. We sang a few songs that we hadn't sung in a while, and it was special to sing them together again. I had nearly forgotten how much I enjoyed "There is a Fountain," so it was great to bring that one in particular back this weekend.
I hope you had a great weekend worshiping the Savior together with His Church!
