This weekend, we continued our series "Follow" message series through the Gospel of Mark, with a message called "A Follower is Sent." For our singing, I wanted to focus on how our following is not a means to earn anything or prove anything, but rather is the only fitting response to what Jesus has accomplished for us. He has redeemed us, adopted us, made us alive, given us hope; He is worthy of all that we are, even our very lives, for what He has done. These songs take us through declarations of our security in the hand of God, of Christ being our Advocate and Intercessorory Great High Priest, of seeing the needs of the world around us and responding with the love of Christ, of recognizing our own frailty and weakness and therefore our need for the strength of our Savior, and of giving our own lives to the cause of Christ because He loved us and gave Himself up for us first.
Here are our songs from this weekend:
"The Mighty Hand of God" (Citizens & Saints)
"Before The Throne" (The Modern Post)
"I Will Go" (Starfield)
"Mighty to Save" (Hillsong United)
"Because of Your Love" (Phil Wickham)
