This weekend, we celebrated life in Christ with many in our church who were baptized. They wanted to proclaim that they were once dead in their sin, but now are alive because of Jesus. It was a powerful and beautiful time with our church family, and it is always a moving experience for me to witness and be a part of people being baptized to proclaim their faith in Jesus.
For the music this weekend, we kept it very stripped-down and simple, mostly for the ability to be flexible if needed, because at the time of planning, we were not sure how many people would actually be baptized in each of our four services. It turned out to be very fitting for the overall feel of the weekend, and it was a lot of fun, as well! The team did a great job!
Here are our songs from the weekend:
"I Stand Amazed (How Marvelous)" (G) [Charles Hutchison Gabriel]
"You Have Overcome" (G) [Bill Horn, Erik Oldberg]
"Because of Your Love" (G) [Phil Wickham]
"Nothing But The Blood" (G) [Robert Lowry, my arrangement]
"Jesus Paid It All" (Bb) [John T. Grape, Elvina M. Hall, add. chorus by Alex Nifong]
It was a fantastic weekend. I think we all came away challenged and inspired by the faith, the life change, and the obedience of our brothers and sisters who were baptized!
I hope you had a great weekend of worship!
